Bread Halwa

Bread is a staple food for many western people and because of transition in
taste of the people now it enter all parts. Normally, halwa is prepared with fruits or vegetables and used to get bored with that. So for a change you can try this bread halwa which is rich in taste and easy to prepare.






Ingredients:




White Bread              - 4 slices
Milk                          - 1/2 cup (150 ml)
Sugar                       - 75 gm
Fried Cashews          - 18-20 nos.
Cardamom Powder    - 1 tsp
Ghee                        - 1/4 cup
Oil                            - to fry

Method :


  1. Toast the bread without oil or ghee and cut them into 4 pieces.
  2. Grind half amount of fried cashews with little amount of milk.
  3. Deep fry the bread pieces in hot oil and drain the excess oil using paper towel.
  4. Bring milk to boil and add fried bread pieces and cook until milk is fully absorbed by bread.
  5. Add the ground cashew paste and cook for 2 minutes.
  6. Add sugar and cook till sugar is fully absorbed
  7. Finally add ghee, cardamom powder and remaining fried cashews.
Note:
 
1. Instead of toasting bread you can also keep the bread pieces in microwave for 4 minutes. But you have to     flip them at each 1 minutes.
2. You can also add little more ghee.
3. Almonds and Pistachios can also be used while grinding.
