Masala Paniyaram

Paniyaram is a famous south indian recipe which is mainly prepared for breakfast. It can also be had for evening tiffin. Masala paniyaram is generally prepared with the regular idli / dosa batter. It has crispy outside and soft from within.











Ingredients:

Idli / Dosa batter - 1 cup
Onion - 1 (chopped)
Urad dal - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

Masala:

Green chilli - 1
Pepper corns - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 string
Onion - 2 pieces.

Method:



Grind all the items of masala and add to the batter.




Heat oil in a tava and allow mustard seeds to splutter. Fry urad dal and onions till they get cooked. Switch off the stove and add corainder leaves and fry for a second. Add this to the masala batter.




Heat the paniyara kadai and apply little oil in each mould. Pour the batter to 3/4 of the mould and cook on medium heat. After 2 minutes flip it and cook for another 2 minutes. Turn the sides until it gets fully cooked.





Serve hot paniyaram with Coconut chutney and Sambar.
