not only children even many of us didn't like it. My husband is also not exceptional and he too hesitates to have bitter taste where I like it, so I tried this method. I finally got non-bittery taste without losing any medicinal values.
Ingredients:
Bittergourd - 1 medium size
Besan / Gram flour - 2 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
Sambar or curry masala powder - 1 tsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste
Oil - to fry
Method:
- Cut the bittergourd in to thin round slices.
- Add all masala powders to it along with necessary amount of salt.
- Leave it for 15 minutes, so that it leaves water.
- By that time it gets coated. If needed add 4-5 drops of water.
5. Deep fry in medium hot oil till golden brown.
6. Drain excess oil by placing it in paper towel.
Now the crispy non- bittery bittergourd is ready to serve.
You can use it as side dish for meals and also can have as snacks.
