Cauliflower Pulav / Rice

Cauliflower is one of the commomly used flowery vegetables. It is an excellent source of various vitamins and also acts as
anti- cancering vegetable.Cauliflowers are available all around the year in the markets and it shouldn't be over cooked as it will lose all its nutrients.Normally, people use cauliflower for making subji's and gravy's. Here I have shown you a new and easy version of preparing cauliflower pulav. 




Ingredients:



Cauliflower                -  1 small  ( cut into 1/2" size)
Onion                        -  1 Sliced
Pepper powder          -  1 tbsp
Cumin powder           -  1/2 tbsp
Garam Masala powder -  1 tsp
Coriander powder      -  1/2 tsp
Ginger garlic paste     -  1 tsp
Rice      - 1 cup (boiled)
Brinji leaves        - 2
Cloves                - 2
Cinnamon sticks   - 1"
Cardamom          - 2
Butter                - 1 tsp
Oil                     - 1 tsp
Salt         - to taste

Method:


  1. Boil water and add turmeric to it. Add cauliflower in that and drain water after 5 minutes.Keep aside.
  2. In a hot pan, add oil and butter. Fry brinji leaves, cinnamon stick, cloves and cardamom in that.
  3. Fry onions and ginger garlic paste.
  4. Add all the spices and salt to it and mix well.
  5. Add cauliflower and saute for 1 minute.
  6. Sprinkle few drops of water so that masala will get well cooked with cauliflower.
  7. Cooked for 3 minutes without closing the pan.
  8. Finally add cooked rice to this mixture and mix well.
