Onion Pakoda



In winter, all of us would like to take some spicy snacks with tea or coffee. It is different from south Indian snack bajji.
Pakoda’s are prepared using onions, chillies, gram flour and rice flour with some other spices. It is very crispy and soft and usually served as snacks or appetizer.






Ingredients:



Rice Flour – 1 cup

Gram Flour – 1 cup

Butter – 1 tbsp

Ginger paste – 1tsp

Garlic paste – 1tsp

Red Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp

Green chilli – 4 (Finely chopped)

Curry leaves – a handful

Asafoetida – ½ tsp

Salt – to taste

Oil – for deep fry


Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together by adding little by little water. The batter should not be sticky.
     
  2. Heat oil in a kadai.
  3. Once the oil is hot reduce the flame to medium and drop the batter little by little.
  4. Fry until golden brown and remove from the oil.
  5. Drain the excess oil using paper towel.
